Hows does it work?
This instruction page will walk you through simple steps of how to use NeedSharing.org. If you have any problems or questions at all please email us at email@needsharing.org.
To get started using NeedSharing.org you must first decide one of the following:

I need help! Step 1 Click the I need help! button at the top of the website. Step 2 If you have not created an account or signed in you must do so before being able to submit your need. Step 3 After you have created an account or signed in you can then fill in the Title for your need, upload an Image and create a Description of your need. Please fill in all the information you can about your need and be as descriptive as possible in the Title and the Description. Needs with pictures always do better since they are more vibrant and as the old saying goes “a picture is worth a thousand words”. Step 4 Next you will add your need determined by the type of need. The need will fall into one of three categories: time, money or item.
For example if you need 2 large shirts for your sons your item based need would be Large boys shirts. and the amount you need would be 2. Step 5 Next you will add your address where you want your need shipped to so that others can send the need directly to you. This is very important and must be accurate to insure that your need arrives safely and to the correct address. Step 6 Finally you will click the Create Need! button at the base of the page and your need will be created and posted for everyone to see. That’s it, you are all done! Final Notes If you receive an item from someone who is helping to fulfill your need (all or part of it) please make sure to sign in to your account and go to My Account > Your Profile > Needs and click the need that you received the item for. Go to the bottom of the need in the Helpers section and if you see the person or need that has been sent click the I Have Received it! button so the person knows you received their gift (the status will also appear in the Helpers area of the need). |
I want to help! Step 1 Click the I want to help! button at the top of the website. Browse or Search for needs that have been posted on our website from people around the world and read all about what they need and why. Step 2 If you are ready to help someone and you have not created an account or signed in you must do so before being able to help someone with their need. Step 3 After you have created an account or signed in, you may select the need you want to help with by simply clicking the Donate, Volunteer or Support buttons next to each need and typing in what you would like to give.
For example if you can give 1 backpack to someone who needs 2 backpacks for their daughters then you would click the Donate button next to the need and then type 1 in the box and click Add to Gift Box button. Step 4 Once you have added all the Gifts you would like to give for a particular need to your Gift Box click the Give Now button. Step 5 You will be taken to the New Gift page where you can leave a personal note for the person who is in need. You can also chose to have your gift be anonymous which means that other users visiting the need will not see your name as a helper. After you have read and agreed to our terms and conditions click the Give this Gift button. Step 6 After clicking the Give this Gift button you will be taken to a page with details on the gifts you are giving and the address to mail the items. Please print this page out for your records. You may also access this page in the My Account > Your Profile area when you are signed in. That’s it, you are all done! Final Notes Make sure to sign in to your account and go to My Account > Your Profile > Gifts and click the I Have Given this Gift button once you have sent a need to somone so that the person in need knows you have sent it (the status will also appear in the Helpers area of the need). |
